uMonitor V1.5 – New features!

The new version (apart from some bug-fixing) adds:

  1. Copy/Paste for all kind of .torrent files You can surf your favorite sites and use the built-in copy feature of the iPhone to copy a link to a .torrent file and then simply paste it in the new field to add it to your uTorrent instance
  2. Profiles To easily switch from home wifi/outside network or if you have multiple instances to monitor
  3. [testing] SSL It should be possible to now use instances over SSL. I don’t have one to test, so please let me know if you manage!

It will be soon available over at cydia!

Awesome app!! I’ve enabled the webui to run off of an alternate port, this requires me to put the address in a normal browser as such: http://www.blah.blah.com:3370/gui” to gain access to the UI. When I enter my details into umonitor, I only typed http://www.blahblah.com/gui for the address and then specify the port. For some reason, my torrents don’t show. btw, entering http://www.blah.blah.com/gui into a browser without the port number doesn’t resolve to any page, is this the problem? I’m using no-ip.com dyndns with DNS host A, and everything else connection wise works great.

    • Lee says:

weeeeird. it started working. blah.blah.com/gui and then specified port number. maybe my connection @ home is too slow…. I feel like a dumbass, feel free to delete my comment! THANKS!

Love your work Cloud! One request (is this the right place?) is to add a Force Download option for those of us who use uTorrent’s scheduler but sometimes want to download anyway!

    Cheers :)

    • Cloud says:

This is the right place, thank you for the good words. Adding a force-download button isn’t in our plans at the moment, uMonitor is more of a side project since we’re not gaining anything from it, sorry!

  7. harconnen says:

please shed some light here!! How do I copy and paste torrent files in uMonitor.

    Thanks

    • Cloud says:

As you do copy anything on the iPhone, find the .torrent link that you want in Safari, hold down to it and select ‘Copy’, then you open uMonitor and go in the ‘add’ tab and in the textfield of the first cell you hold down on to it and then select ‘Paste’

      • harconnen says:

I have paste the torrent link in “Torrent URL:” field in “Add New” but it does not do anything. Please help.

        Thank you.

    • Cloud says:

If you do press ‘return’ on the keyboard it should add it, if it doesn’t it probably the link wasn’t actually pointing to a .torrent file… Are you trying to add a .torrent that requires some kind of authentication?

this works great. yesterday i had some issues where it would crash on startup (3.0 firmware on a 3gs, jailbroken with purplera1n), but the 1.5.2 update today fixed that and everything is running.

Thanks Cloud for another great release with more useful features. Unfortunately, ssl (at least with untrusted certificates) is still not working yet on this release. This version now reports a “network problem: Error – lost network connection.” Is there anything I can do to help you troubleshoot this bug? Feel free to email me with instructions if I can help you debug. BTW, on an unreleated note, there also appears to be a bug with the comment posting on this website when performed via the iphone safari browser. Upon hitting the “publish” button to post a message with my iphone, the website would stall with the circular icon going in an infinite loop.

    • Cloud says:

I sent you an email, let me know there if we can arrange something!

      • Robin says:

Thanks, Cloud! https/SSL is finally working! Thank you for getting this address so quickly!

On an unrelated note, can I make a feature request? Is is possible to add a function to view the comments and details from the mininova search results with uMonitor? It’s often helpful to determine the validity and quality of certain BTs.

Nonetheless, this app is simply fantastic! Thank you for your contribution to the community.

    Thank you, Cloud.

I’ll try it as soon as I see it, and let you know how it goes.

  13. krionX says:

After upgrading from 1.1.1, it crashes on start. :(

    • Cloud says:

please make sure to delete the old version and then re-install the new one

      • krionX says:

        First I upgraded. It crashes.

Then I tried removing 1.5, and reinstalling it again. It crashes too.

Finally, I tried removing it, reinstalling, then restarting. Still crashes.

        I’m on 3GS, jailbroken 3.0 with redsnow.

I’m looking for a downloadable .deb for the older version 1.1.1 so I can reinstall that manually for now.

        Thanks, Cloud.

    • Cloud says:

I see, I’m sending to the zodttd guys a new version which should fix these problems. Why don’t you upgrade to 3.1, not jailbroken yet?
